5 Yearly Fixed Wire Testing
As part of compliance, ECMS offers competitively priced Five Yearly Fixed Wire Testing.
This type of testing is designed for commercial premises and is important for employers because all commercial premises must comply with British Standards.
This includes offices, warehousing, shops, schools and more.
It’s your duty as an employer to make sure your building complies with the Health & Safety regulations, BS761, Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999, The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 and The Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992.
Testing All Your Electricity
Fixed Wire Testing relates to electrical services and systems that use electricity around your place of work and involves all the hard wiring in your building.
It also includes mains panels, lighting, socket outlets, distribution boards and air conditioning.
When you book a Five Year Fixed Wire Testing inspection, one of our experienced team of trained engineers will visit your premises and conduct a full site-survey.
All the ECMS engineers are NICIEC approved so you have complete peace of mind that you’re using the very best.
This survey involves visual checks and electrical checks on every system that requires electricity in your building.
The engineer will take note of switchgear, control gear and the circuits they relate to.
You should already have up to date previous test information and circuit labelling which helps the engineer to be able to inspect everything thoroughly and read previous reports.
Electrical Installation Condition Reporting
It’s important that this type of inspection only be carried out by trained engineers.
Once the testing is complete, our engineers will provide you with a full report within 24 hours.
This report is known as an Electrical Installation Condition Report which will detail any work carried out, any potential problems, dangers and test results.
If there is a dangerous situation in the wiring, our engineers will inform you and rectify the problem as quickly as possible.
Maintenance Outside Office Hours
We recommend that this type of Fixed Wire Testing be completed outside of working hours to minimise disruption to your business.
This is because electricity is disconnected during testing.
